Tropical Storm Domeng Enters PAR

Tropical Storm Jangmi entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) at 12:30 a.m. today, May 29, and was named Domeng.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Thursday, May 28, the storm was last spotted at 1,245 kilometers east of Southeastern Luzon.

PAGASA said it was not expected to make landfall.

Domeng was moving north-northwestward, packing winds of 75 km per hour and gusts of 90 kph.

PAGASA weather specialist Charmange Varilla said Domeng would intensify into a typhoon on Saturday, May 30.

Wind signals may be hoisted over the extreme part of Northern Luzon, Varilla said.

Domeng may exit PAR by Monday, June 1.
